The Water Warrior

Nesa has just moved to a village in East Sumba. During the dry season, water is scarce. Mother usually fetches the water, but Mother is sick. Nesa has to collect the water. She follows the village children through a rocky path, up and down the hills in scorching heat. The water source is so far away. Will she make it? Will she become a water warrior?

A quietly heroic story about a girl who turns her love for her sick mother into courage, reminding children that being brave often means doing a hard thing with a friend beside you.
